Each session begins with me gently guiding you into a deeply relaxed state, otherwise known as the state of hypnosis. When we enter the state of hypnosis (also called a ‘trance state’), our brain waves actually slow down from Beta (which is associated with normal waking, active thinking and alertness) to Theta (day dreaming, deep hypnosis, drowsiness). This is one reason why being hypnotized can feel very relaxing During hypnosis your body and conscious mind are deeply relaxed, while your subconscious mind remains wide awake, open, and receptive to suggestion. In this altered state of consciousness it is possible to re-wire your brain and learn how to behave and think differently. By repeating the new thoughts and behaviours, you reprogram old limiting beliefs about yourself or others, you create new neural pathways that are more beneficial that will literally change your brain, and allow for healing and transformation.
