Are you extremely afraid of being judged by others?
Are you very self-conscious in everyday social situations?
Do you avoid meeting new people?
If you have been feeling this way for at least six months and these feelings make it hard for you to be yourself around others or do everyday tasks—such as talking to people at work or school—you may have a social anxiety disorder.
The best way to treat social anxiety is through a combination of cognitive behavioral therapy and hypnotherapy. We will work together to identify your negative thoughts and start to change them. The goal is to build confidence, learn skills that help you manage the situations that scare you most, and then get out into the world to do the things you desire.
Cognitive behavioural therapy is a short term, goal-oriented psychotherapy treatment that focuses on helping people with a very specific problem, helping them learn how to identify and change destructive or disturbing thought patterns that have a negative influence on behavior and emotions.
CBT is based on a the theory that it’s not events themselves that upset us, but the meanings we give them. It also ,encompasses a range of techniques to help anyone learn how to better manage stressful life situations.
Hypnosis is one of the most powerful tools available for personal transformation: it is one of the most powerful ways to build new behaviours, create new patterns and find alternate ways of dealing with situations. Why? Because it speaks directly to your subconscious mind, allowing you to update the old habits and the programs running in your life right now.
HOW DOES IT WORKEach session begins with me gently guiding you into a deeply relaxed state, otherwise known as the state of hypnosis. When we enter the state of hypnosis (also called a ‘trance state’), our brain waves actually slow down from Beta (which is associated with normal waking, active thinking and alertness) to Theta (day dreaming, deep hypnosis, drowsiness). This is one reason why being hypnotized can feel very relaxing During hypnosis your body and conscious mind are deeply relaxed, while your subconscious mind remains wide awake, open, and receptive to suggestion. In this altered state of consciousness it is possible to re-wire your brain and learn how to behave and think differently. By repeating the new thoughts and behaviours, you reprogram old limiting beliefs about yourself or others, you create new neural pathways that are more beneficial that will literally change your brain, and allow for healing and transformation.
